Biography of Master Beinsa Douno

 

1864

 

 

  • Peter Konstantinov Dеunov was born on July 11 (Saint Peter’s Day) (June 29th according to the Julian calendar), 1864, about 12 o’clock at noon, in the village of Hadurcha (now it is called Nikolaevka, 30 km northeast from the town of Varna). He was the third child of the Orthodox priest Konstantin Deunovski and Dobra Chorbadzhi Atanasova, who before that had a son with the name Atanas and a daughter Maria.

     

  • In 1872, entered Preliminary Bulgarian School in the village of Hadurcha, which was closed during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878.

1880 

  • After the Liberation of Bulgaria from Turkish Yoke, he finished Five Class Secondary School for Boys in Varna.
  • On July 25* (from here on by the sign* is marked the old style of chronology according to the Julian calendar), 1886, graduated the American School of Theology and Science in the town of Svishtov.

  • He was a teacher for two years in the local school in the village of Hotantsa, Ruse Region.

  • In August 1888, went to the United States of America.

 

1890

  • On October 15, 1890, got a preliminary seminar of theology at the faculty in the town of Madison, NJ.

  •  During 1891-93, attended the Faculty of Theology in the University of Boston as a full-time student. He graduated on June 7, 1893.
  • On February 3, 1894, he completed a one-year course in Medicine.

  • During his seven-year stay in the USA, probably got in touch with the occult communities of the Theosophists and Rosicrucians, who at that time focused the attention of the western spiritual intellectuals.
  • In 1895 (at the age of thirty-one), returned to Bulgaria. He spent the years till 1899 in a seclusion and profound inner work. Most of the time he lived at his birth sister Maria.
  • In 1896, published his book Science and Education in Varna, which comprised the main philosophical ideas that he consequently developed and explained in his teaching.
  • On March 7*, 1897, (at the age of thirty-three) in the village of Tetovo, Ruse Region, had a mystical experience that divulged his spiritual mission, together with the occult name Beinsa Douno.

 

  • In 1897, published the brochure “Hio-Eli-Meli-Mesail” in the town of Varna – one of the consecutive mystic messages of the Spirit.
  • In 1898, gave the talk “Appeal to My People – Bulgarian Sons of the Slavonic Family” in the presence of the charity association “Mother” in Varna, which was an appeal for social and spiritual self-determination.
  • In 1898, started correspondence with his first disciples: Penyo Kirov from the town of Burgas, Dr. Georgi Mirkovich from the town of Sliven and Maria Kazakova from the town of Veliko Tarnovo.
  • On February 13, 1899, wrote Ten Testimonials of God in Varna, and on February 24 – The Promise of God. On February 28*, 1899, signed the answers to Ten Testimonials together with his disciples Penyo Kirov and Todor Stoimenov.

 

  • 1899-1900, lived at the Orthodox priest Konstantin Deunovski in the town of Novi Pazar.

 

 

 1900

  • On April 7*, 1900, summoned the first gathering of the White Brotherhood, which he called meeting of the Chain. It was attended by Penyo Kirov and Todor Stoimenov from Burgas, and Dr. Georgi Mirkovich from Sliven.
  • 1900 – 1942, organized and held annual gathering of the White Brotherhood, every August at different places: Varna (1900-1908), Veliko Tarnovo (1909-1925), Sofia (1926-1941), and in Rila Mountain and Vitosha Mountain.
  • June 25 to July 9*, wrote Seven Conversations with the Spirit of God in Novi Pazar.
  • On October 1*, 1900, wrote another conversation with the Spirit of God, entitled “The Three Things”.
  • 1901 - 1912, travelled across Bulgaria, held lectures and carried out phrenological studies of selected representatives from the Bulgarian people.
  • Since 1904, used to spend long periods of time in Sofia, at the house оf Petko Gumnerov, at 66 Opalchenska Street. Master Beinsa Douno started delivering his Word there, in the form of talks.

 

1910

  • In 1912, worked on the Bible in the village of Arbanasi, near Veliko Tarnovo, and compiled The Testament of the Colour Rays of Light, which was published in September the same year.
  • On March 9*, 1914, organized a prayer gathering for meeting of The Spiritual New Year, and proclaimed the advent of the New Age of the Aquarius.
  • On March16*, gave the first Sunday talk “Behold the Man” (officially written in shorthand) in Sofia, which initiated the beginning of the series Power and Life. The Master set forth in them the main principles of the New Teaching of the White Brotherhood.
  • On February 15 (Thursday), 1917, opened a cycle of special lectures in the presence of married women in Sofia, which continued till June 30, 1932
  • In 1917-18, during the World War I, Vasil Radoslavov’s government exiled him in Varna. He lived in London Hotel, where he kept up correspondence with his disciples.

 

1920

  • On February 24, 1922, inaugurated the Universal White Brotherhood School, where he founded two classes of disciples. The General Occult Class was opened by his lecture “Three lives”, and the Special (Youth) Occult Class – by the lecture “The Two Paths”. The lectures in front of the two occult classes continued weekly for a period of 22 years (till December 1944).
  • On August 21, 1922, at the convention of the White Brotherhood in Veliko Tarnovo, gave the song “Fir-fur-fen- Blagoslavyay” (the Bulgarian for “Bless”), which was the beginning of the trend of the school musical exercises that ended in 1944 with “The New Genesis”.
  • From 1923, delivered different aspects of his Word at a specially built hall in Sofia, at 14 Oborishte Street.
  • In 1927, founded the settlement of Izgrev (today is called Izgrev Quarter), where he summoned his listeners, disciples and students, there was established a spiritual society that was unique in its nature in Bulgaria. He settled permanently at Izgrev, where he lectured on the different aspects of his Word in a specially built hall.
  • On August 19, 1927, gave a cycle of talks on the occasion of the gathering of the disciples of the White Brotherhood in Izgrev, where in one of them – “The Way of the Disciple” - the Master revealed the essence of the new path of the occult discipleship.

     

     

  • In 1929, originated the summer spiritual schools at the Seven Lakes in Rila Mountain. The gatherings at Rila Spiritual School were conducted in the atmosphere of brotherhood and convivial spirit. The days 19th, 20th and 21st of August have a special meaning and became an official celebration of the White Brotherhood Society.

 

1930

  • On September 21, 1930, started a new trend of the Word – Sunday Morning Sermons that continued up to April, 1944.

 

  • In 1934, presented Paneurhythmy – a cycle of twenty-eight exercises that comprise a melody, a text and plastic movements. Later on he added “Sunrays” and “Pentagram” exercises.
  • On May 4, 1936, an active member of the political party Democratic Accord battered him and the Master had brain hemorrhage that caused a paralysis. Despite the illness, on July 14, 1936, he went together with his disciples at the Seven Rila Lakes, where he recovered fully on August 12.
  • On March 22, 1939, wrote the epistle to his disciples “The Eternal Testament of Spirit”.

 

1940

  • At the beginning of 1944, during the air-raids over Sofia, organized the evacuation of Izgrev community to the village of Marchaevo, 24 km south-west of Sofia. He stayed at the house (now a museum) of his disciple Temelko Temelkov. He returned to Izgrev in October 19, 1944.
  • On December 20, 1944, delivered his lecture The Last Word to the General Occult Class.

 

1944

  • On December 27, 1944, left the physical world. His body was laid in Izgrev.
